Hydrovac trucks or Hydro Excavators use high-pressure water to cut through and liquefy soil, while simultaneously using a high volume vacuum to remove the soil from the excavation. Both water and soil from the excavation are collected and stored in a truck mounted tank.
There are different models of hydrovacs on the market. Different models have different levels of vacuum, different levels of tank capacity and varying levels of water pressure. But functionality, they are all typically the same.
